Inflation Calculator (Türkiye)
Enter an amount and two years to see its nominal equivalent, chained through Türkiye's official year-end (December) CPI rates. For example, 1,000 TL in 2020 corresponds to about 1,559 TL at the start of 2022 after 14.60% inflation in 2020 and 36.08% in 2021. The tool also reports cumulative inflation over the span and the average annual (geometric) rate; swap the years to find the past purchasing power of today's money. The data set is based on TÜİK's official consumer price index and covers year-end rates for 2018-2025, with each new year added every January. Türkiye's recent inflation makes this conversion essential when comparing salaries, rents or contracts across years.

Frequently asked questions
How does the inflation calculation work?
Each year's December 12-month CPI change is taken as that year's inflation, and the rates in your chosen span are chained by multiplication. For 100 TL from 2020 to 2022: 100 × 1.1460 × 1.3608 = 155.95 TL — you need 56% more money for the same purchasing power.
Which years are covered?
TÜİK year-end CPI changes for 2018-2025: 20.30%, 11.84%, 14.60%, 36.08%, 64.27%, 64.77%, 44.38% and 30.89%. You can also select 2026 as the target year (using inflation accumulated through the end of 2025); the 2026 figure will be added in January 2027.
What is the difference between cumulative and average annual inflation?
Cumulative inflation is the total price increase over the whole span; the average annual rate is the constant yearly rate that would produce the same total (a geometric mean). From 2020 to 2022 the cumulative rate is 55.95% while the average annual rate is 24.88% — taking a simple arithmetic average of yearly rates would overstate it.
Can I convert backwards in time?
Yes — choose a start year later than the target year. For instance, 10,000 TL in 2026 has the purchasing power of roughly 932 TL in 2018, because prices rose about 10.7-fold over those eight years.
