Severance Pay Calculator (Türkiye 2026)
Enter your employment start and end dates and your last gross monthly salary (including regular benefits); severance is calculated as 30 days' gross pay per full year of service, with remaining months and days prorated. The legal ceiling for the termination date is applied automatically: 64,948.77 TL for January-June 2026 and 73,729.84 TL for July-December 2026. Severance is exempt from income tax; only 0.759% stamp tax is withheld. The tool also computes your statutory notice period (2-8 weeks by length of service) and the corresponding notice pay, which — unlike severance — is subject to both income tax and stamp tax. Results reflect legal minimums; collective or individual agreements may grant more.
Frequently asked questions
How is Turkish severance pay calculated?
For each full year with the same employer you receive 30 days of your final gross salary including regular benefits (meal and transport allowances, bonuses). Periods beyond full years are prorated: 10 years 6 months at 40,000 TL gross gives 40,000 × 10.5 = 420,000 TL gross severance.
What is the severance ceiling in 2026?
The salary used for severance is capped at 64,948.77 TL for terminations between 1 January and 30 June 2026, and 73,729.84 TL from 1 July to 31 December 2026. If your gross salary is higher, each year of service is paid at the ceiling. The cap is updated every January and July.
What deductions apply to severance pay?
Severance (up to the ceiling) is exempt from income tax; only stamp tax at 0.759% is deducted. From 400,000 TL gross severance, 3,036 TL stamp tax is withheld leaving 396,964 TL net. No social security premium applies.
What are the statutory notice periods?
By length of service: under 6 months — 2 weeks; 6 to 18 months — 4 weeks; 18 to 36 months — 6 weeks; over 3 years — 8 weeks. If employment ends without notice, pay in lieu (notice pay) is owed for these weeks; it is subject to income tax and stamp tax.
