Reading time assumes about 200 words per minute, a common silent-reading average for adults; speaking time assumes about 130 words per minute, a comfortable presentation pace. Your actual pace may differ — use them as planning estimates.
Do character counts include spaces?
Both are shown: "Characters" counts every character including spaces and punctuation, while "Characters (no spaces)" excludes whitespace. Platform limits (e.g. social media posts) usually count spaces.
